Department Executive Committee - DEPARTMENT OF COLORADO AMERICAN LEGION

Good afternoon, Legion Family, This is a reminder that the American Legion Department of Colorado will hold its regularly scheduled Department Executive Committee (DEC) meeting on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 10:00 AM (Mountain Time). This meeting will be conducted in person. I want to clarify the procedures regarding Zoom participation to avoid any confusion. Under the Department of Colorado Constitution and Bylaws, virtual meetings that permit discussion and voting are authorized only for Special DEC meetings. Therefore, the October 24 meeting must be conducted in person for official DEC business. However, in the interest of transparency and keeping our membership informed, a Zoom connection will be made available for individuals who wish to listen to the proceedings. Please understand the following: In-person attendance: Authorized DEC members attending in person may participate in discussions and vote in accordance with the Department Constitution and Bylaws. Zoom access: Individuals joining by Zoom will be permitted to listen to the meeting proceedings only. No voice or vote: Zoom participants will NOT be permitted to speak, make motions, participate in discussions, or cast votes. Attendance: Joining by Zoom does not constitute official attendance for purposes of establishing a quorum or conducting DEC business. We recognize that travel and scheduling conflicts may prevent some individuals from attending in person. Providing a listen-only Zoom option allows interested members to remain informed while ensuring that we comply with our governing documents. Please do not confuse the availability of Zoom access with authorization to participate virtually in DEC business. All official discussion, motions, and voting will take place in person.
